Blogs: Who Reads Them? - From the Editor, Wilfred Lim (Pc Magazine Malaysia).

Who reads blogs? This question will definitely spark a debate with bloggers on one slide and traditionalist on the other. But really who are the readers of blogs? There are blogs almost every conceivable topic, ranging from personal musings to tech reviews to political critique. There is something for everyone if one searches hard enough. In fact there are so many blogs out there that one is more likely to be swamped than left empty handed.
Although the blog phenomenon has taken the cyberworld by storm, has it measure up to its hype? Bloggers concern themselves with pings and hits; ping is a system which notifies the original post while hits is a metric to gauge the number of visitors to site.
There is no doubt that blogs attarct readers. A tech blog will invitably attarct readers who are intrested in teach and likewise political blogs will attract those with such inclination. There are of course readers who would browse logs but are not avid followers of the news. Readers of blogs will tend to gravitate to the topics of their intrests, similar to readers the traditionl media.
